What Do We Believe?
Where does Waters Edge Church fit into the scene of Christian options that exist today? First, we are a Jesus-loving, Bible-believing, evangelical church. That means that we believe in the authority of God’s word, salvation by grace (regeneration), and the importance of spreading that message to others (evangelization). That also means that we maintain fidelity to the age-old basics of the Christian faith: God is one in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Trinity); Jesus is fully God and fully man (incarnation); Jesus died for our sin (atonement) and rose again with a real body (resurrection); he is coming back to rule and judge the world (2nd Coming).

Furthermore, we are a non-denominational church. That means that we are not tied to a larger denominational structure beyond our own locality. That also means that we determine our own leadership structure, worship styles, and ministry emphasis without reference to a governing council or bishop. In other words we are free to operate as God leads us locally!
Encounter God Here
There is another thing that clarifies our identity. We believe that the Holy Spirit encounters people today in powerful and amazing ways! Furthermore, we believe the Holy Spirit manifests himself today through the gifts which he gave to the people of his church (Eph. 4:7-16). Scripture teaches that these gifts remain active in the church until Jesus returns (1 Cor. 1:4-7). We are praying that you will have your own profound encounter with God and discover your unique gift-set when you join our family at the Water’s Edge.
Finally, there needs to be some clarity on our stance as it regards the issues of gender, sexuality, and marriage. We claim God’s best for us, and we want to be clear about what that looks like in today’s confused world. Our church’s official stance on these issues are stated most clearly in the fourteen articles of the “Nashville Statement” https://cbmw.org/nashville-statement/. If you have more questions let’s talk!
