team
Our lead pastor oversees the ministry staff towards a common goal, to fulfill the church's mission to help people encounter God by his Spirit and become like Christ to advance his kingdom.
LEAD PASTOR
Larry Baker encountered Jesus through a life-changing conversion at 21, sparking a deep, Spirit-led journey. After serving as an elder for 15 years, Larry joined Waters Edge Church in 2020, and in September 2023, through a powerful, divine encounter, he was appointed as Lead Pastor. In a moment he describes as “feeling the oil of God running down his forehead into his eyes,” Larry experienced a fresh anointing for leadership. His preaching is marked by a heartfelt passion for guiding others into an intentional and intimate relationship with Jesus. Under his leadership, Waters Edge continues to focus on encountering God and pursuing His vision to reach all of Lexington. Larry and his wife, Valerie, have been married for 43 years and are blessed with four children and four grandchildren.

He seeks to integrate prophetic ministry and prayer into each service, guiding the congregation into deeper encounters with God. Off stage, Aaron is known for his heartfelt ministry to the church family, always seeking to uplift and encourage others in their walk with Jesus. Aaron celebrates his gift of singleness and choses to live unmarried to be uniquely devoted to the kingdom of God (cf. Matthew 19:10-12).
